Literature Text

After leaving the Ember Island Players, Team Avatar now notices that the countdown to the endgame for them is ticking, they begin training for the final battle against Firelord Ozai. Zuko begins to feel depressed that he may not see his mother again, until he is comforted by Sokka, telling him that it doesn't matter if he loses his mother, he'll still have family (referring to "Southern Raiders"). Meanwhile, Toph begins to realise that her father never loved her, as she is comforted by Suki. Suki tells her that unlike her, she was an orphan who was born and raised in Kyoshi Island, she considered the warriors as her family and Oyaji as her father-like figure. After that, she tells her, that no matter what, her father will still have kindness for her.

At the Boiling Rock, Mai and Ty Lee have been imprisoned on Azula's orders, due to them betraying her for letting Zuko escape (referring to "The Boiling Rock, Part 2"). They are in separate cells, with Mai with Zuko's long-lost mother Ursa and Ty Lee with the captured Kyoshi Warriors who ironically were captured by her alongside with Mai and Azula (referring to "Appa's Lost Days"). At her cell, Mai reconciles with Ursa and tells her she regrets working with her daughter Azula, saying that it caused a falling out after Zuko returned to the Fire Nation (referring to "The Awakening").

However Ursa tells her that Azula could've trust her because there is still good in her. At Ty Lee's cell, she apologises to the Kyoshi Warriors and blames herself for capturing them, however one of the Warriors, Alanna tells her she's not the blame at all. She asks the Warriors if she helps them escape, she would like to join them.

At Ember Island, Team Avatar trains for the final battle as Aang begins to have visions of the Four Nations being wiped out. After this, he walks out and contacts Avatar Roku to the Spirit World. At the Spirit World, Aang asks Roku what is going on with him. Roku explains to him that he suffering from effects caused by his near-death experience (referring to "The Crossroads of Destiny"). Aang asks him how to defeat Firelord Ozai, Roku explains to him the only way to defeat him is to kill him, which is one thing that Aang would refuse to do so. With this, he leaves. However, the flashback effect causes him to collapse, with Katara taking him to a room where she can heal him.

At the Fire Nation royal palace, Azula spies on her father's war room where he talks to his army to find Zhao, who has been found alive at the outskirts of Southern Water Tribe after being presumed dead for a few months (referring to "The Siege of the North, Part 2"). He then tells the war minister that Azula is starting to have become more like her mother, which alienates her. With this, she flees to confront Zuko at Ember Island.

Azula arrives at Ember Island, where she confronts Zuko. She challenges Zuko to an Agni Kai. During the Agni Kai, Zuko angrily tells Azula that she's not like her father at all and there is still good in her. After this, Zuko walks away. During this time, Azula begins to feel remorseful for Zuko and her mother, as she wanted the latter's love but couldn't do as she was sent to the Boiling Rock for treason and involvement in her grandfather's death (referring to "Zuko Alone"). She finally regrets everything with her father. By this time, she redeems herself and asks Zuko for help.

Now knowing that she has become remorseful, Zuko forgives her and hugs her. After this, their uncle Iroh arrives at Ember Island, which results in a reconcilation between him and Azula. In the final scene, Ozai tells the army to invade the Water Tribes, which they proceed. After this, he tells to the statue of his grandfather that the war is almost over and that he is close to defeating the Avatar.

This is part 1 of my alternate version of the series finale for Avatar: The Last Airbender, "Sozin's Comet", which actually is part of my Earth-0 canon. For anyone thinking this is the real version, it is not! This is my "what could have been" version.
