Well, as you can see is that the reboot of Ben 10 has debuted on Cartoon Network recently (though not in the US) and early fan reception has been fairly divisive (though not as very divisive as Omniverse), but I actually had an idea for a reboot of the series which would've had the lighthearted tone of The Original Series and the serious tone of Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, but less of the wackier tone of Omniverse.
Think Spider-Man: The Animated Series meets Power Rangers Dino Thunder meets Transformers: Prime. I may get backlash for this but one of the influences for this reboot was in fact the Kelvin universe of Star Trek (the opening scene of the 2009 film marked the beginning of the alternate timeline that makes the Kelvin universe) and the Boom! Studios reboot of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Here's how it would start: A team of scavengers called the Ellipsis from the year 1946 travel forward in time in 1976 as they prepare to find Paradox in a Plumber airplane piloted by a twenty-year-old Max Tennyson and his partner Phil as Paradox went in a vortex that led him to go back in time. Soon, one member confronts Phil on the whereabouts of Paradox but Phil tells him that he doesn't know who he was talking to and then the member vaporises him. Not long after, Max uses the Null Void Projector and sends the Ellipsis to the portal. This creates an alternate timeline so that the original timeline doesn't altered. As a result, the Omnitrix's arrival is delayed to five years plus some of the characters' birth years are also changed as in this case Ben and Gwen were born in the year 2000 instead of 1995.
On the characters side. Cousins Ben and Gwen Tennyson are enrolled at Bellwood High and are close to each other (not in a squicky way), while the principal is actually working for the Ellipsis. Who would voice him, you say? I would've pictured either Kelsey Grammer or Ron Perlman. Other students for Bellwood High are characters from the previous four series and these include: Cooper Daniels (a intellectual computer expert and known hacker who has an IQ of 230), Alan Albright (aspiring basketball player), Elena Validus (gymnast), Julie Yamamoto, Manny Armstrong, Pierce Wheels and his cousin Helen, Ester Waterfalls, Kai Greene, Rockford Blonko, Edwin Grandsmith, Ashley "Cash" Murray, James "JT" Trumbo and others.
When compared to his original series counterpart, Ben is laidback, stern and serious, while Gwen is more like her Alien Force/Ultimate Alien self than her original series personality plus there would be annual crossovers with Generator Rex, like Arrow has annual crossover episodes with The Flash.
I'm not putting Jimmy or Will because I don't want the reboot to be a repeat of Ultimate Alien, when Ben became a household name plus the latter is very despised by fans.
Gwendolyn Sarah Tennyson (voiced by Mae Whitman and Vanessa Marshall as an adult from the future) is the deuteroganist. A black belt in karate, Gwen has a known interest in being a magician as she then realises that her and Ben's grandmother Verdona was previously a sorceress from the Anodyne clan (in this reboot, Verdona is human than an alien), whose original line-up were formed by Merlin in the Medieval ages, when part of the army led by Arthur Pendragon turned against them, becoming the Forever Knights.

Elena Validus (voiced by Seychelle Gabriel)
Kai Greene (voiced by Devery Jacobs)
Pierce Wheels (voiced by Todd Haberkorn)
Helen Wheels (voiced by Janet Varney)

Verdona Wilkins-Tennyson (voiced by Gates McFadden) is the grandmother of Ben and Gwen in addition to being the mother of Carl and Frank Tennyson. In this reboot, Verdona is not an alien, but a sorcerer who was part of a clan called the Anodyne.
Carl and Sandra Tennyson (voiced by Eric McCormack and Lauren Graham) are Ben's parents.
Frank and Natalie "Lily" Tennyson (voiced by Clark Gregg and Jennifer Grey) are Gwen's parents.
Joel Tennyson (voiced by Michael Rosenbaum) is the cousin of Carl and Frank, in addition to being Ben and Gwen's second cousin.
Paradox (voiced by Jason Isaacs) is a time-traveller whose origins and name remain a mystery. Prior to the series, he confronted the Ellipsis, which resulted them to go forward in time in the year 1976, which the Ellipsis killed Max Tennyson's Plumber partner Phil.
Gordon and Betty Jean Tennyson (voiced by John Wesley Shipp and Mindy Sterling) are Joel's parents.

Characters
Heroes
Benjamin Andrew Tennyson (voiced by Josh Keaton and Freddie Prinze Jr as an adult from the future) is the main protagonist. An aspiring soccer player, Tennyson dreamed of playing goalkeeper for the Bellwood Bulldogs before discovering a box containing a watch device called the Omnitrix, which chose him and allowed him to transform into aliens via the morphing call "It's hero time, activate...". He is relatively close to his cousin Gwen who shares the same age as him along with their grandfather Max as they used to spend time with him on a stateside journey when they were kids. He is laidback, stern and serious, though he has a sense of humour.Gwendolyn Sarah Tennyson (voiced by Mae Whitman and Vanessa Marshall as an adult from the future) is the deuteroganist.

Family and friends
Maxwell Tennyson (voiced by Mark Hamill) is the grandfather of Ben and Gwen in addition to being the father of Carl, Frank and Jade Tennyson. Prior to having a relationship with Verdona Wilkins that resulted in their marriage in 1980, he had a brief relationship with fellow Plumber Xylene, resulting in a daughter named Jane. Really couldn't care less on what is or isn't
But sorry, Disney. Big Hero 6 is Marvel. This isn't me criticising the film but I liked it when I first saw it in the cinemas nine years ago. It's just that I'm not happy that both Disney and Marvel aren't interested in republishing their 616 comics despite the film's success in order to aim towards those who enjoyed the film, which is why the comic book series set in the film's universe was published by IDW, who actually have published Marvel comics with the Marvel Action line a few years ago. Isn't it any wonder that their refusal to republish the comics as well not putting the Marvel logo in the film's TV series sequel are the reasons why they've been absent from the main 616 continuity since the Amazing Spider-Man comic book storyline "Ends of the Earth" 12 years ago? I just wish they cared enough for the team to have them get a new comic book and whatnot. Anyway, here's this Fall Out Boy song from the film.
Truth, justice, way and tomorrow
86 years and a day ago, history was made in the comic book in form of Action Comics issue 1, which marked the first appearance of Superman and served as a breakthrough moment for National Comics, the comic book publisher that ultimately became DC Comics. For what it's worth, the Man of Steel himself truly began an age for superheroes and whatnot but not only that, he was truly one of the first superheroes in comic books, full stop. His motto can be either "Truth, Justice and the American Way" or nowadays "Truth, Justice and a Better Tomorrow" and has been played by the likes of Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, Tom Welling, Brandon Routh, Henry Cavill, Tyler Hoechlin and soon David Corenswet. With that, happy Superman day and here's the iconic theme tune from the 1978 film.
There are writers who are just overrated
So last night, me and Reece (formerly PrimalPrince) had a conversation on overrated writers via E-mail with him going for Stephen King, Dave Filoni, Aaron Ehasz and Ian Flynn with reasons like: King can tend to kill off animals in his stories and some of them are too bleak. Filoni's better with other people than by himself like how The Clone Wars was a joint effort with him and George Lucas and The Mandalorian was a joint effort with him and Jon Favreau as well as stating some of the problems from Ahsoka such as Sabine's stomach injury wasn't very serious when really it should've been and Anakin's Force Ghost being more concerned for his former Padawan than Luke and Leia. Ehasz's best work in Avatar: The Last Airbender were mainly those he co-wrote with his then-wife Elizabeth Welch and that The Dragon Prince lost some momentum due to the three-year gap and change of head writers. Flynn overstaying his welcome in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics as he's lasted much longer than his
A follow up to last Friday's journal entry
Thursday's Cinemacon revealed big events coming up in Hasbro, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Avatarverse and the Monsterverse. For Hasbro, we're getting a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film. I had a feeling that it was inevitable due to the last scene from Rise of the Beasts and for the Turtles, we're getting a live-action film adaptation of The Last Ronin. Honestly, I think it should be an animated miniseries instead. For the Avatarverse, the title for next year's Avatar: The Last Airbender animated film sequel has been revealed to be Aang: The Last Airbender and in addition to Jessica Matten as Katara, Eric Nam, Román Zaragoza and Dionne Quan (yep, Trixie Tang herself) will be voicing Aang, Sokka and Toph respectively with Dante Basco and most likely Jennie Kwan reprising their roles as Zuko and Suki respectively but wait there's more as Dave Bautista will be voicing the main antagonist. However, just hours after announcement, some people want a recast for Aang's actor as it
